Hola! I’m José Manuel Cardona Arias. I’m a data-driven problem solver with a hybrid background in policy and technology. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Computational Analysis and Public Policy at the University of Chicago, I bring experience at the intersection of data science, geospatial analysis, and international development. Passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights, with a strong interest in machine learning for social impact, public sector innovation, and evidence-based policy.

I’m passionate about applying data science and machine learning to real-world policy challenges, with a particular focus on poverty measurement, beneficiary targeting, and improving government effectiveness. I’m especially interested in how tools like machine learning, satellite imagery, and natural language processing can enhance the design, evaluation, and delivery of public programs.
